FAQs
Q: What kind of massage do you do?
A:
I offer 4 types of therapies.
My
Table Massage
style incorporates the long,
flowing, kneeding, and percussive strokes of Swedish Massage
with deep tissue techniques,
sports stretches, and intuitive massage. Each massage is tailored for the individual, depending on their needs.
Thai Massage is
done on a mat on the floor, with the client fully
clothed. It involves stretching, massage, and Thai
sen-line work, similar to chinese acupressure. Click here
to see a video example.
Seated Massage
is done
in a special type of chair with the
client fully clothed. Sessions
typically last 25 minutes or less. This type of massage is best for quick upper-body work.
Reiki is a
profoundly relaxing technique
from Japan. It reduces stress and
promotes well-being. Administered by a gentle laying on of hands, Reiki
is an appropriate therapy
for anyone of any age; even those who are unable to recieve other types of massage.
Q: Do I have to take off my clothes?
A: No. Although certain techniques cannot be done over clothing, a very effective massage can be done with the client fully-clothed.
Q: Am I expected to tip the massage therapist?
A: Tips are always appreciated, but never expected.
Q: When should I arrive for my massage?
A: Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. If you are a first-time client, extra time to allow for filling out the intake form will be scheduled into the appointment at no charge.
Q: What if I am late for my appointment?
A: If you are less than 30
minutes late, I will be happy to work with you for your remaining allotted time. Full payment will still be expected. If you are more than 30-minutes late, it is considered a missed appointment, and I may leave the office.
Q: What if I miss or need to cancel my appointment?
A: If you need to cancel an appointment, please give 24 hours notice. If less than 24 hours notice is given, then full payment will be expected. Exceptions will, of course, be made for true emergencies or illness.
Q: Do you provide happy endings, manual release, or sensual massage?
A: No. I provide therapeutic services only. Any sexually suggestive remarks, advances, or behavior will result in immediate termination of the session, with full payment due.
Q: Will you accept barter as payment for services?
A: On a rare occasion I
will accept barter. Please feel free to ask but understand that I may decline.
Q: What kind of music do you play during massage sessions?
A: I play music that I find peaceful, relaxing, and uplifting. If you do not enjoy the music that is playing before or during your session, please feel free to ask me to change it. It won’t hurt my feelings at all!
Q: May I bring my own music to my session?
A: Absolutely! I love to hear new music and am comfortable with nearly any genre or artist.
Q: Do you use lotion or oil?
A: My preferred product for massage is actually an all-natural gel, which feels much like an oil when applied to the skin. It is light-weight and absorbs well. I also keep pure jojoba available for those who have sensitive skin. Lotions and creams are also available if they are your preference.
